Odisha Unveils ₹3,651 Crore B-MAAN Plan to Boost Aviation and Rail Connectivity

The Odisha government has unveiled a comprehensive infrastructure blueprint worth ₹3,651 crore under the ‘Building Management of Aviation Assets and Network’ (B-MAAN) to modernize civil aviation and railway connectivity across the state. Announced by Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena in the Odisha Assembly, the ambitious plan focuses on expanding airport infrastructure, enhancing railway networks, and improving interstate transport services.

The road transport sector will benefit from an investment of ₹466 crore, which includes the introduction of 12 new AC sleeper buses connecting Bhubaneswar with major cities like:

  • Ayodhya
  • Hyderabad
  • Bhilai

To ensure better traffic management and safety, the government will implement an Intelligence Enforcement Management System (IEMS), starting with monitoring key highways:

🏗️ Puri’s Upcoming Shree Jagannath International Airport

The government has outlined a comprehensive compensation package under the 2013 Land Acquisition Act for families affected by the airport project:
