Thousands of aspirants in Odisha are facing a major scheduling conflict as two crucial examinations—the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) Mains and the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Junior Engineer (JE) exam—are both scheduled to be held on April 22, 2024.

- The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) had announced the dates for the OAS Mains Exam well in advance, scheduling it from April 19 to April 27.
- The RRB, however, later adjusted its national-level JE examination schedule and set April 22 as the exam date.

“Once it comes to the knowledge of the authorities concerned (RRB and OPSC), they must take appropriate steps. Otherwise, it is the candidates from Odisha who will suffer. Hence, our exam date should ideally be shifted to another date.”
He further stated that the final decision lies with the OPSC Chairperson, who may consider revising the schedule.
